South County Mental Health Center is a privately owned nonprofit chartered by the state of Florida in 1974. We are governed by a board of directors who are volunteers from the community, and our programs are licensed by the state of Florida. SCMHC is accredited by The Joint Commission. We employ more than 300 in a wide range of health care roles. These include psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, nurses, mental health counselors, marriage and family therapists, activities therapists, mental health technicians, and administrative support professionals. Our staff delivers sound clinical treatment with compassion and sensitivity.
