Ellen Koo, MD

Dr Koo is a corneal specialist, with a research and clinical focus on endothelial dysfunction, keratoplasty, cataract and complex anterior segment surgeries. Dr Koo is committed to improving the fields of corneal transplantation and eyebanking. She has pioneered innovations to improve the surgical techniques of DMEK and DSEK, and teaches keratoplasty techniques at national skills transfer wet-labs. Dr Koo is currently leading several clinical trials in the treatment of corneal edema and Fuchs Dystrophy as the principal investigator at the Bascom Palmer Eye Institute. Dr Koo is the current and past president of the Fuchs Symposium.
